Letter refusing the claim for breakage of shipment

We regret to learn from your letter of May 10 that our shipments by
the s/s "President Wilson" arrived in a damaged condition. As the goods
were packed with the greatest care, we can only conclude that our shipment
was stored or handled carelessly in the course of transit. We must, there-
fore, disclaim all liability in this case, and in support of this statement we
would point out that we hold a copy of clean B/L. Under the circumstances,
we would suggest that you lodge your claim with the Insurance Company
at your end.
