Style No. 10 at US $10.70 per dozen C.I.F. xxx for August shipment
and L/C payment. Below is cable with our counter as follows:
YOUR FIFTH ACCEPTABLE SUBJECT TEN DOLLARS FIFTY CENTS
TOTALING 5,250 DOLLARS CABLE WILCO.
In view of the current price in this market your price is rather high. You
must remember that the competition in this line is very strong and that your
competitors are offering lower prices than yours.
We would like to transact most of our business with you and we have cabled
you a counter offer, asking for further discount. So unless you can accept
this price the business will fall through.
